About Adoption
Foster Child Adoption
There are many different types of adoption: international, infant, identified and foster child adoption, to name a few. The children represented on this website are legally free for adoption and in the Nebraska foster care system. These children have entered into state care through no fault of their own and often come from abusive and/or neglectful homes. When a child is unable to reunite with their biological family, they are often placed into foster homes, shelters, and other living facilities as they wait for their forever family.
If you are interested in adopting one of these children and reside in the State of Nebraska, you must first become an approved and licensed foster/adoptive home. If you reside outside the State of Nebraska you must provide an approved updated home study. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has set high standards for families who wish to adopt Nebraska children. Before a home can be approved and licensed they must first attend either a PRIDE or PSMAPP training.
